REVIEW on WEEK 22

Monday
- this day disappeared while in flight

Tuesday
- Arrived in Auckland, New Zealand
- Bus to our hostel, Freeman's Lodge
- Sky City - lunch at Rebo and Tower viewing for 360 degree view of city
- Auckland Museum
- Dinner at Portofino in Parnell - best feta goat cheese ever!
- Chocolate Boutique - Hazelnut hot chocolate and chocolate tiramisu

Wednesday
- Walked to the pier to catch a ferry to Waiheke Island
- Bus tour of the island
- Wine tasting at Saratoga Wine Estate and On Wild!
- Shopping on Queen St.
- Dinner at Chinese BBQ
- Dessert - Gelato - Stracciatela and Hokey Pokey

Thursday
- Intercity bus to Rotorua
- Rotorua Cafe - Strawberry Kiwi Tea
- Rotorua Bathhouse Museum
- Te Puia - carving and weaving schools, kiwi bird house, geothermal lands/geyser, shopping, Maori cultural entertainment/show, traditional Maori Hangi meal, hot chocolate while viewing geyser in the rain

Friday
- Kiwi Experience bus to Waitomo Caves
- Spellbound Cave tour - Glow Worm caves (blackwater raft) and a cave that housed bones possums, cows, etc. and fossils of an extinct bird related to the ostrich, kiwi, and emu
- shopping
- hiking/exploring near the Waitomo Hotel
- curly fries and cider, steinlager at Curly's Bar
- rabbits at the Shearing Shed
- bus back to Rotorua
- shopping
- NZ dinner at Triple One Five - lamb on stonegrill, and garlic bread
- $2 chai mocha and carrot cake at Nonni's

Saturday
- park near hostel - lots of hot sulphur ponds
- Farmer's market - tried lamb kebob, samosa, fried bread, and fruits - apple, golden kiwi, a guava-like fruit, and a tomato/pomegranate fruit
- Hell's Gate - walked their geothermal lands - hot waterfall and sulpher/mud pools, carved a kiwi bird that symbolizes determination; spa - mud bath and sulpher bath
- bus back to Rotorua
- lunch at Fat Dogs - sausage roll and plum/cream cheese muffin
- Intercity bus to Auckland Airport
- Air NZ to LAX
- back in LA, went to Sunland to visit Maylin and other Woodbury architects

Sunday
- uploaded pics and unpacked
- met up with family
