MOR - Spinach Sausage Lasagna

This is the actual recipe I made last week - My Own Recipe (MOR) - not the Weight Watchers one.

RECIPE FOR - SPINACH SAUSAGE LASAGNA

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (lean)
2 links spicy Italian sausage
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tbs chopped garlic (from a jar)
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
16 ounces Marinara Sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
9 wheat lasagna noodles
Italian Herbs - (1 tsp of each of the following: oregano, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme)
2 tbsp crushed red pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until evenly brown. Drain the fat, then add in the onions and garlic and cook 3 minutes. Mix in the spinach and Marinara sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Add Italian Herbs and crushed red pepper. Reduce heat and stir occasionally until spinach and sauce are heated through.
Meanwhile, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. I prefer them a little more al dente than fully cooked.
Spray a 9x13 inch glass baking dish with cooking spray, then layer 1/3 of the noodles, followed by 1/3 of the marinara meat mixture then 1/3 of the mozzarella. Repeat layers twice, and top with remaining cheese and cheddar.
Cut foil to fit over dish. Spray one side with cooking spray, and with cover, sprayed side down. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove the foil and turn off oven. Let stand uncovered 15 minutes in oven. Remove from oven and let sit 10 minutes before serving.
