FLAVOR of WEEK 13: HAWAII

I'm back from Hawaii... sadly. Went to the Big Island and spent the week with my aunt and cousins at their house in Kailua-Kona. Here's some snapshots from our trip.





Sunday:
- Arrived in Hawaii
- Tour of house, resort, and premises








Monday:
- Kona Pacific Farmers Coop- Kona Coffee Tasting, tour of the farm, coconut and lilikoi ice cream
- Kona Chips - Furikake chips are soooo yummy!!! (so are Maui chips)
- South Point/Green Sand Beach









Tuesday:
- Swimming with Spinner Dolphins - saw a whale, swam with hundreds of dolphins, and ate lunch
- Brown's Beach House












Wednesday:
- Hawaiian Vanilla Company
- World Botanical Gardens, Umauma Falls
- Volcano National Park - Chain of Craters Road, Crater Rim Drive
- Night viewing of the lava flowing into the ocean, Glass lava pendant








Thursday:
- Hilo - Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory
- Rainbow Falls, Boiling Pots, Peepee Falls
- Kaumana Lava Cave
- Akaka Falls
- Huli Sue's BBQ - mixed plate BBQ, pineapple mint iced tea
- Popoli Valley, Hawi, Kohala Coast
- Sunset on the beach






Friday:
- Kayaking across Kaelikakekua Bay, snorkeling by Captain Cook
- Parasailing, Hawaiian shaved ice



Saturday:
- Should have gone to Waipio Valley for a hike, but my back hurt from the day before so we hung out at the house, fitness center/country club, and ate dinner in Waikoloa Village. Mmmm... Ahi. Then on the plane for LAX.
